A recent record has added the consoles of past generation, something that Bungie had not mentioned.

The return of Marathon is about to happen and the game is already preparing for its release on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC. However, in the last few hours, an unexpected detail has emerged that has caught the attention of the community.
The American age rating organization ESRB has published the game’s official sheet, and it includes Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as platforms, something that Bungie had not publicly confirmed until now.
Marathon’s registration mentions last-gen consoles
According to the rating published by ESRB, Marathon has received a “Teen” rating, which is common for shooters of this type. What’s striking is that the list of platforms also includes PS4 and Xbox One, in addition to current consoles and PC.
This detail opens up two possibilities. The first is that Bungie is working on versions for the previous generation, something that has not been officially announced yet. It wouldn’t be the first time that a title initially intended for current hardware ends up being released on older systems as well.
In fact, in recent years, there have been similar cases with important games that ended up being adapted to older consoles, especially when it comes to projects with a multiplayer or continuous service focus.
It could also be a mistake in the rating
The other possibility is that it’s simply a mistake in the ESRB sheet, something that has happened before when ratings are published before the game’s release.
For now, Bungie has not confirmed any version for Xbox One or PS4, so we’ll have to wait for official information to know if there are indeed plans for those platforms.
In the meantime, the return of Marathon continues to generate excitement among players, especially after the first tests were conducted before its release.
