Mafia: The Old Country has already revealed its official PC requirements, but now we also know how the game will perform on next-generation consoles. 2K has confirmed that on both Xbox Series and PlayStation 5, the title will feature two graphics modes available from launch: one focused on smoothness and the other on visual fidelity.
The information arrives at a crucial moment, just when many players were waiting to know if the experience of this prequel set in Sicily could be enjoyed at 60 FPS. And yes, it will be.
Quality and Performance Modes on Xbox Series for Mafia: The Old Country
Xbox Series X users will be able to choose between two different configurations to adapt the experience to their preferences:
-
Performance Mode: runs at an average of 60 frames per second, slightly sacrificing resolution to achieve smoother gameplay.
-
Quality Mode: prioritizes resolution and graphical detail, maintaining a more stable frame rate around 30 FPS, as expected for this type of configuration.
This decision follows the line of many current titles and aims to give the player the possibility to adjust the game according to their style, whether seeking the best visual finish or a more immediate response in control.
It has not yet been detailed what exact resolution each mode will reach, nor if there will be differences between Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, although it is expected that the latter will also offer some type of similar configuration adapted to its hardware.
