Although the official announcement is scheduled for Gamescom 2025, a new leak may have jumped the gun on the release date of Call of Duty Black Ops 7. According to insider Ghost of Hope, the game is set to drop on November 14, 2025, a bit later than usual for the franchise.
So far, Activision hasn’t given out any concrete details about the launch, beyond confirming that the title will be the star of the Opening Night Live. The leaker’s track record and the time of year align with the publisher’s strategic moves to avoid direct competition.
Black Ops 7 might be arriving a little later than usual
It’s common for Call of Duty to land between late October and early November. But with releases like ARC Raiders (October 30) and The Outer Worlds 2 also on the way — both of which will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one —, slightly delaying the launch of Black Ops 7 could be a way to gain visibility without oversaturating the calendar.
- The new title has been generating speculation for months, with hidden clues in Warzone and teasers launched under the radar. Everything points to it refocusing on modern conflicts, maintaining the darker and more serious style characteristic of the Black Ops line.
For now, this November 14 date hasn’t been confirmed, but if it’s made official during Gamescom, it’ll be one of the biggest releases of the fall on Xbox. We’ll be keeping an eye on any moves from Activision.
