Sony is taking firm steps towards a more open strategy, and this time it’s made it very clear in a new job posting. The position, which reports directly to the Vice President of Commercial Management, confirms what many had anticipated: PlayStation Studios games will expand to more platforms, including Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, Nintendo, and mobile devices.
The job description for Senior Director of Platform & Account Management details that this person will lead the global commercial strategy for PlayStation Studios titles “across all digital platforms, beyond PlayStation hardware“. This explicitly includes not just PC, but also Xbox, Nintendo consoles, and mobile devices, leaving no doubt about the company’s intentions.

This move goes far beyond bringing games to PC, as has happened so far with titles like God of War or Spider-Man. The inclusion of Xbox and Nintendo in the announcement is no coincidence. Sony is seeking to strengthen its presence in other ecosystems, something unthinkable just a few years ago. In fact, it was officially announced in early July that Helldivers 2 will debut on Xbox Series at the end of August, being the first title from PlayStation Publishing to arrive on Microsoft’s console. A very symbolic step that could mark the beginning of a new era for Sony’s internal studios.
