Konami has made it clear that Silent Hill is once again a strategic priority for the company. Following the return of the series with the remake of Silent Hill 2 and the development of Silent Hill f, the Japanese publisher has reaffirmed its commitment to the brand for the coming years.
The confirmation comes through its third-quarter financial report, a document in which Konami not only reviews financial results but also offers very revealing clues about its medium-term roadmap. And among them, one stands out above the rest.
A new Silent Hill, independent of remakes
In the report, Konami indicates that it is currently developing a completely new Silent Hill chapter, separate from the already announced remake projects. The company explicitly mentions that this title is being produced in parallel with the remake of the first Silent Hill, which will again be in the hands of Bloober Team after their work on the second installment.
The nuance is important: by describing it as a “completely original” project, Konami makes it clear that it’s not another remake or a revision of previous installments, but a new proposal within the universe of the saga. For now, no details have been shared about its setting, focus, or development team, and no approximate release window has been given.
However, Konami has reiterated its intention to release a Silent Hill game approximately every year, a statement that reinforces the idea of a long-term plan to re-establish the franchise after years of inactivity. In this context, both Silent Hill f and the confirmed remakes fit in… and now also this new, unprecedented project.
