Well, we had warned you that today would be a crucial day for GTA 6 and in the end, it has been, Rockstar has officially announced the delay of the game, a sad day after so much silence and waiting, in the end, the game will not be released in May 2026.

The message, signed directly by Rockstar Games, acknowledges the long wait that fans have endured since the original announcement, but ensures that this extra time will be key to offering a “polished and complete” experience set in the fictional state of Leonida, with a return to modern Vice City.

The studio also thanked the community for their constant support and reaffirmed their enthusiasm for showing more details of the game soon. GTA 6 remains one of the most anticipated titles of the decade, and after this change, its release will finally take place on Thursday, November 19, 2026.

The new date could also alter the marketing plans previously set for 2025, although Rockstar has not provided more information about new trailers or promotional campaigns.
