With less than a month to go before its release, Borderlands 4 continues to reveal details that are building excitement among fans. In an interview published on the official Epic Games Store website, the development team has shared information about gameplay, and one of the most striking pieces of data is the overwhelming number of available weapons in the game.
The art director has confirmed that this fourth installment will feature over 30 billion weapons, manufactured by iconic brands in the series such as Daedalus, Jakobs, Ordine, Ripper, Vladof, Torgue, Maliwan, and Tediore. A figure that highlights the leap in ambition compared to previous chapters.
An almost infinite arsenal in Borderlands 4
The explanation behind this number is the new procedural generation system, which allows combining parts and components from different brands, something that was more limited in previous titles. This mechanic not only increases variety but also opens the door to weapons with unique properties and advantages that will fit with all types of playstyles.
We’ll have to see how much real difference exists between one weapon and another in the heat of combat, but Gearbox has already demonstrated its ability to equip its arsenal with modifiers, special effects, and extravagant advantages that make each encounter distinct.
Since its debut in 2009, the Borderlands series has defined the looter shooter genre, combining first-person action with irreverent humor and a cel-shaded visual style that has made it an icon of modern gaming.
Players will be able to start searching for and collecting their favorite weapons starting September 12, 2025, the official release date of Borderlands 4.
