Electronic Arts has been absent from the basketball game market for several years, since the release of NBA Live 19 in 2018. After canceling the NBA Live 20 project, the brand seemed to have reached its end. However, recently, EA has published a teaser image on its official social media channels, suggesting that a new basketball game is in development.

What’s catching attention is one of the tags used in the tweet, which makes explicit reference to “CBB”, an acronym that refers to College Basketball. This has led to speculation that the title in question could be called EA Sports College Basketball, following the line of the EA Sports College Football series. In fact, EA Sports College Football 26 is scheduled to be released on July 10, 2025.

If this is the case, the game would be the spiritual successor to the NCAA Basketball/NCAA March Madness series, which focused on college basketball and whose last installment, NCAA Basketball 10, dates back to November 2009.
