QuakeCon 2025 has kicked off with a bang, and it didn’t take long to make some explosive headlines. The convention, which brings together thousands of players in North America’s largest LAN event, has served as a showcase for id Software’s present and immediate future.
Among announcements, updates, and free content, the return of two of the most influential shooters of the 90s stands out, along with a new combat mode for DOOM: The Dark Ages, a wave of mods for DOOM Eternal, and a wave of discounts that are already live.

The latest major release from id Software receives its second major update with the new Ripatorium mode, an arena challenge against waves of demons. If you overcome the trials, you’ll unlock the exclusive Perfection Slayer appearance. Additionally, until September 1st, you can get the special DOOM Slayer QuakeCon skin for free just by linking your Bethesda.net account.
Meanwhile, DOOM Eternal on PC adds an official mod launcher with over 650 community creations, ready to download, manage, and play easily.
