The latest update for Hunt: Showdown 1896 is now live, bringing significant changes to the gameplay. Coinciding with the final stretch of the special Murder Circus Encore event, Crytek’s title expands its content with new threats and tools that directly impact the strategy within each match.

This new patch launches at a particularly sweet time for the game, which recently surpassed 10 million players worldwide. A figure that reinforces its position within the genre and serves as context for an update designed to alter the usual pace of confrontations.

The Flame Rifle and the Return of the Bileweavers in Hunt: Showdown 1896

• The major addition is the Flame Rifle, a brand-new Scarce weapon that can be obtained in the Murder Circus Compound. It’s a medium-range rifle that fires pressurized liquid that ignites upon exit, generating a continuous stream of fire capable of clearing entire areas or forcing enemy movements. Its use requires constant attention: pressure and fuel are consumed with each shot, and even when the weapon remains inactive.
• To maintain its effectiveness, players must manually pump the weapon and reload the tank using the yellow barrels scattered throughout the map. The flames spread when impacting surfaces, creating temporary burning areas that can control access or break defenses.

Alongside this novelty, the Bileweavers return, an infestation that reoccupies compounds in all maps. Their nests modify the environment, generate new routes, and hide valuable loot such as Traits, tarot cards, or remains of trapped Hunters. These creatures appear in both Bounty Hunt and Bounty Clash, forcing players to rethink each confrontation.

The update is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, bolstering one of the game’s most comprehensive events to date.
