If you’re one of those who still enjoys the physical format, you’re in luck. Hotel Barcelona, the new 2.5D action slasher title created by SUDA51 (No More Heroes) and SWERY (Deadly Premonition), will also arrive in physical format for Xbox Series X and Xbox One, in addition to PS5.
This bloody and surreal side-scrolling adventure takes us to a haunted hotel on the border between Pennsylvania and West Virginia, where death is just the beginning. A twisted homage to VHS horror movies, with online co-op and a protagonist trapped between reality, violence… and her own mind.
Hotel Barcelona will be released in physical format for Xbox this fall: blood, ghosts, and co-op
In Hotel Barcelona, you play as Justine, a novice marshal who wakes up trapped after an inexplicable accident. The hotel where she finds herself is not a refuge, but a trap for seven of America’s most infamous serial killers, and her only help is the voice of Dr. Carnival, a brutal and twisted entity that inhabits her mind.
Each level is designed as a homage to the most disturbing and sickening horror movies. The game includes a mechanic where each death generates a spectral version of yourself, increasing the challenge and chaos in each attempt. Additionally, you can invoke Carnival to unleash devastating attacks and change the course of combat.
Hotel Barcelona will also feature online co-op mode for up to 4 players, allowing you to face its story accompanied… or die alone. Its release is scheduled for this fall of 2025, both in digital and physical format for Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PlayStation 5. A new authorial madness that will not go unnoticed.
