What many had intuited has become a historic reality: Hollow Knight: Silksong not only met expectations, but also shattered records on Steam since its release. On September 6, just three days after its debut, the game recorded a peak of 587,150 simultaneous players, allowing it to enter the Top 20 most played games of all time on Valve’s platform.

With this milestone, the sequel developed by Team Cherry has surpassed authentic multiplayer giants and global successes that had been on Steam’s lists for years. The PC community has received it massively, and everything suggests that its player base will continue to grow in the coming days.

Hollow Knight Silksong surpasses heavyweights on Steam

The mark achieved by Silksong places it in 17th position in Steam’s historic ranking, surpassing games with millions of fans worldwide:

And if we narrow it down to paid single-player titles, Silksong achieves an even more impressive result: it ranks fifth all-time, just behind four recent giants:
