The enormous success of Helldivers 2, which also arrived on Xbox at the end of August, has not slowed down the ambitions of Arrowhead Game Studios. On the contrary, the team has already hinted that some ideas for a possible third installment are starting to take shape, and one of them points directly to a system very similar to that of Destiny.
During a chat with the community on the game’s official Discord, Shams Jorjani, CEO of Arrowhead, mentioned that among the features they are considering for the future is the creation of a public social hub, a space that would serve as a meeting point for all players beyond the classic flagship that serves as a lobby in Helldivers 2.
A meeting point beyond the ship for Helldivers 3
Currently, players can only gather with their own squad on the ship before each mission, but there is no open and shared environment with other users. The concept of a social hub in the style of “The Tower” from Destiny would allow for a new level of interaction: trading, customization, cooperative missions, and even live events within a common space.
Jorjani himself acknowledged that this feature could also be explored in a future update of Helldivers 2, although he emphasized that its implementation requires significant time and resources. In any case, the fact that it is already part of the studio’s wish list suggests that Arrowhead is not satisfied with what has been achieved and seeks to expand the experience towards a more social and persistent terrain.
