Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Enhanced finally has an official release date. It will be available on August 12th as a free update for those who already own the game on Xbox Series, PC (Microsoft Store and Steam), or are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass. Additionally, for the first time in the series’ history, a native version for PlayStation 5 will be released.
This enhanced release brings multiple graphical and gameplay improvements, such as a 60 FPS performance mode, enhancements to Photo Mode, a new optional challenge with the Rot Dark, and developer commentary. The official verification on Steam Deck has also been confirmed, starting on the same day.
Everything Hellblade II Enhanced includes starting August 12th
The standard edition will be available for $49.99 on PlayStation 5, while the Deluxe Edition ($69.99) will also include Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice optimized, the original soundtrack, and improved compatibility. On PS5, those who already own Senua’s Sacrifice on PS4 will be able to upgrade without additional cost.
These are the main improvements:
-
60 FPS Performance Mode: designed for added fluidity during combat and intense sequences. On PC, a new “Very High” setting is also included.
-
Rot Dark Mode: the return of the system that erases your progress if you fail too many times, just like in the first game. It’s optional, but poses a serious challenge.
-
Expanded Photo Mode: more tools and a new “Motion” section for cinematic video captures.
-
Developer Commentary: over four hours of content about the game’s creation, featuring voices from the team, cast, and mental health experts.
-
Steam Deck Verification: ensuring full compatibility on the portable device starting on the same day, August 12th.
On Xbox and PC, the update will be completely free. On PlayStation 5, it will be available in digital format, and if you pre-order the game, you’ll also receive an app with the original soundtrack of Hellblade II.
