After months of speculation and technical advancements, Project Motor Racing finally has an official release date: it will be available on November 25, 2025 for Xbox Series, PC, and PlayStation 5. The project, led by GIANTS Software and Straight4 Studios, promises to be one of the most comprehensive proposals in the automotive simulation genre, both in terms of physics and ambitious mod support.
The announcement comes with a trailer focused on the Single-Player Career Mode, which will allow players to build their career from scratch in an environment where every mistake can be costly. At the same time, the opening of digital pre-orders has been confirmed, and most importantly, a crucial piece of information: full modding on consoles and PC from day one, something unprecedented in the genre.
Project Motor Racing: Release Date, Mods, and Career Mode
One of the biggest surprises of Project Motor Racing is its mod compatibility on all platforms. Thanks to the use of the GIANTS Engine, players will be able to create, share, and download custom content through a centralized validation system. The official GIANTS Editor will be used, the same one that has enabled over 4.5 billion mod downloads in Farming Simulator.
“Fans of simulation will have total freedom to adjust, transform, and expand their experience as they desire,” explains Boris Stefan, publishing manager at GIANTS Software.
All community-generated content will be managed through the game’s integrated portal, with review by the studio to ensure stability and compatibility. This includes new cars, tracks, physics adjustments, weather conditions, and more.
In terms of base content, the game will include over 70 cars recreated in detail and spread across 10 competition categories, such as GT3, LMDh, or classic touring cars. There will also be 27 laser-scanned tracks, dynamic weather effects, and day-night cycles. The physics will be powered by a 720 Hz simulation engine, designed for instant response on both wheel and controller.
A Career with Real Consequences
Beyond the technical aspect, one of the pillars of the game will be the Single-Player Career Mode, which will aim for a more realistic representation of motorsport. It’s not just about winning races, but about managing budgets, sponsorships, mechanical damage, and professional relationships. Every mistake can have long-term repercussions on the car’s performance and the driver’s progression.
“We wanted to reflect the harshness of real motorsport: from failures on the track to losing a season due to a bad move,” says Austin Ogonoski, design director at Straight4.
This mode will be accompanied by a competitive online multiplayer aspect, although specific modes and license implementations have not been detailed yet. However, both the Assetto Corsa and rFactor 2 communities have already shown interest in the project, given its serious orientation and promise of mod compatibility from the start.
Pre-Orders Now Available and Limited Edition
Digital pre-orders are now live on Xbox Store, PlayStation Store, and Steam. The price has not been officially confirmed, but GIANTS Software has promised to maintain an accessible pricing policy and offer rewards for pre-ordering before launch.
