The first major broadcast of Genshin Impact in 2026 has already taken place, and as tradition dictates, it has been accompanied by new promotional codes. HoYoverse has taken advantage of the official reveal of Luna IV to distribute free rewards to the community, marking the beginning of the new year in Teyvat.
During the live stream, which focused on breaking down the main novelties of the upcoming update, three redeemable codes were confirmed, allowing players to obtain a total of 300 Protogems, as well as useful materials for character and weapon upgrades. A small but welcome help, especially with the new banners on the horizon.
Free Genshin Impact codes – January 2026
These are the official codes distributed during the Luna IV presentation. It’s a good idea to redeem them as soon as possible, as they expire in a few hours:

The codes can be redeemed directly from the game or through HoYoverse’s official website. Once validated, the rewards are sent to the in-game mail and must be claimed manually from there.
Everything Luna IV brings
The Luna IV version, available on January 14, 2026, will continue the main story with a new chapter focused on the Doctor, as well as introduce the Lunar Crystal elemental reaction. The map will also be expanded with a new area located north of Nod-Krai.
Among the highlighted events, the Lantern Rite returns, allowing players to obtain up to 1600 Protogems and 10 Intertwined Fates. In terms of characters, the update will add new playable characters: Columbina (5★ Hydro), Zibai (5★ Geo), and Illuga (4★ Geo).
