In recent hours, rumors about the next installment of the driving saga from Playground Games have gained momentum. Everything started with a deleted Instagram post in which an Australian car import company talked about scanning Kei cars, very popular in Japan. This revitalized the hope that Forza Horizon 6 will finally take place in Japanese territory, a constant request from the community since the first installment.
In Xbox Generation, we already advanced those alleged details about the future of the game, and now Windows Central reinforces this possibility with more solid information. The medium ensures that it has had access to official documentation that circulates internally and points to Forza Horizon 6 being announced during the Tokyo Game Show 2025, which will take place at the end of September.
Xbox looks to Japan with Forza Horizon 6, its announcement would be in September
While the initial leak had to be taken with caution, the papers seen by Windows Central suggest a strategic move: presenting the game at Japan’s largest video game event, where Xbox has already confirmed its presence. A decision that would only make sense if the title is actually set in that country, reinforcing rumors of Japanese scenarios and greater prominence for local vehicles.
Forza Horizon 5 continues to be a success since its release in 2021 (for us, the best car game that exists today), even reaching PlayStation this year, but it no longer receives new content and is limited to recycling past updates, and it’s evident that it needs a major refresh. Everything points to Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios focusing their efforts on the new installment, which could be the most ambitious in the saga thanks to the ForzaTech engine, the same one that gives life to Forza Motorsport (2023) and the reboot of Fable.
Although there is no official confirmation for the moment, the signs are increasingly clear, and everything points to the announcement of Forza Horizon 6 being just around the corner, with a release planned for 2026.
