Xbox continues to show off new details of one of its biggest releases for 2026, Forza Horizon 6. On this occasion, a new gameplay video has revealed more information about the open world, events, and activities that will be available in the next installment of the driving saga.

The video is part of the special coverage of IGN First, where the Playground Games team has explained in more detail how some of the new experiences will work within the huge map set in Japan.

During the presentation, several types of events that will be integrated directly into the map were shown, allowing players to participate without needing to enter menus.

• Time Attack events, focused on beating times on different sections of the map

• Drag Race competitions, designed for quick online showdowns

• Open activities throughout the map, accessible simply by driving to their location

One of the most interesting aspects is that all these events are integrated naturally into the open world, so players can find them while exploring the map and start the activity instantly.

The team also talked about the progression system. The Horizon Festival will continue to be the core of player progress, with a wristband system that unlocks new races and challenges. This is complemented by a second system that rewards players for simply exploring the map, driving freely, or participating in the various open-world activities.

With these changes, Playground Games aims to offer a more flexible experience for different types of players, from those who prefer to compete constantly to those who enjoy exploring the massive map at their own pace. The release of Forza Horizon 6 is scheduled for May 2026.
