The release of Helldivers 2 on Xbox Series has been a global success, achieving record-breaking player numbers. However, in Argentina, fans have yet to access the game from the Xbox Store, causing concern among the local community.
According to new information, the delay is not related to the game itself, but rather to external issues linked to the regional market and the country’s economic instability.
Microsoft and Arrowhead are working on a solution for Argentina
According to sources close to the studio and Microsoft, the release of Helldivers 2 in Argentina has been affected by fluctuations in the local currency against the dollar, which is complicating the setting of a stable price on the Xbox Store.
The problem can be attributed to several factors affecting digital prices in the Argentine Xbox Store:
-
Constant fluctuation of the Argentine peso against the dollar: many companies set base prices in USD and then convert them to local currency. If the value changes abruptly, the final price may become unbalanced.
-
Microsoft and publisher pricing policies: publishers must approve the price in each region. If there is no monetary stability, they prefer to delay the release rather than risk setting an unrealistic price (too low or too high).
-
Local payment restrictions: in Argentina, purchases in foreign currency often have additional taxes and surcharges that further complicate conversion.
-
Risk to profitability: in some cases, a poorly adjusted price can result in losses for the company, especially if players from other countries try to take advantage of the regional price difference.
Both Arrowhead Game Studios and Microsoft are reportedly aware of the issue and are seeking alternatives to ensure the title reaches the Argentine market. Although there is no confirmed release date, the intention is for the delay to be temporary and resolved as soon as possible.
For now, the official recommendation is for Argentine players to stay tuned for upcoming store updates and studio announcements, as availability should be unlocked once the situation is adjusted.
