During the Xbox Games Showcase, almost 15 days ago, one of the big surprises was the confirmation of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for Xbox Series. It’s one of the most acclaimed releases in recent years, which finally leaves exclusivity and prepares to debut on Xbox consoles just in time for the holiday campaign.
The announcement marked a very anticipated moment for green brand players. After years of waiting, Xbox receives one of the most ambitious and revered JRPG remakes, with a complete version that will include all additional content released so far.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade: definitive edition with improvements for Xbox
- Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is not just a re-release. This expanded version of the game includes the additional episode starring Yuffie Kisaragi, improved graphics and performance compared to the original, and drastically reduced loading times. On PlayStation 5, it became the definitive way to enjoy the remake, and everything points to Xbox Series receiving an equivalent adaptation.
Square Enix has not yet detailed whether any exclusive additional content will be added to this platform (we seriously doubt it), but it has confirmed that it is the Intergrade version, that is, the most complete one available on consoles. This will include:
-
The DLC episode INTERmission with Yuffie as the playable protagonist.
-
Support for 4K resolution and 60 FPS performance mode.
One of the best modern JRPGs, now on Xbox
For many players, Final Fantasy VII Remake was a love letter to the 1997 classic, reinvented with a dynamic combat system and an ambitious visual bet. This installment not only reimagined Midgar with impressive detail, but also introduced new characters, expanded narrative lines, and modernized mechanics.
- Its real-time combat system with tactical pauses has been widely praised for combining the best of action and traditional strategy. The narrative also received praise for its deeper focus on protagonists and its surprises compared to the original.
- With its arrival on Xbox, this Japanese RPG gem becomes a recommended purchase for those seeking an immersive experience, full of nostalgia, but also adapted to current standards.
One of the big holiday bets for Xbox Series
Although the exact release date has not been confirmed, Square Enix has indicated that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will arrive at the end of 2025. Everything points to it being one of the star titles for Xbox this holiday season, both for the weight of the name and the absence of the main saga on the platform until now.
After Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?
This launch could also serve as ideal preparation for the possible arrival of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second part of the project. For now, there is no official confirmation, but the arrival of Intergrade on Xbox could be the first step towards its debut on the console. Square Enix has not closed the door to that option, and it will depend largely on the commercial performance of this first release on the platform.
If you have never played this reimagining of the PSX classic or if you were waiting for a native version for Xbox Series, this is the definitive opportunity.
