The release of the demo of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Xbox has finally allowed us to analyze its technical performance on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, making the differences between the two versions clear from the start.
The first comparisons, based on direct testing, show a solid optimization job on both consoles, with special attention to performance stability and a clear separation between graphics and performance modes.
Technical differences between Xbox Series X and Series S
On Xbox Series X, the game offers two distinct modes:
-
Graphics Mode: native 4K resolution, with a stable 30 FPS rate. The visual quality is on par with the PS5 version, with good levels of detail, lighting, and sharpness.
-
Performance Mode: approximate resolution of 1512p, prioritizing 60 FPS, resulting in a much smoother experience without sacrificing visual quality too much.
On the other hand, Xbox Series S takes a more conservative approach to resolution, but maintains the same performance approach:
-
Graphics and Performance Mode: both run at 1080p, with 30 FPS and 60 FPS respectively.
-
Although the image is smoother and less detailed than on Series X, the result is still consistent and clean, with no noticeable performance drops.
In both cases, the demo (which covers the first part of the game) maintains a very stable frame rate, which is especially important for a visually demanding title like this.
These initial tests make it clear that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade arrives on Xbox Series with a solid technical foundation; well-scaled between Series X and Series S. Additionally, it’s worth remembering that demo progress can be transferred to the full game, making it a great opportunity to try out which mode fits best before its final release.
