The legendary Final Fantasy IX has just turned 25 years old today with no less than a quarter of a century of history. It seems like it was just yesterday (as we often say) when the game was released, but nothing could be further from the truth, as a quarter of a century has passed since its debut and, as expected, Square Enix is celebrating.

For many, (including myself) it’s one of the best Final Fantasy games ever created. This is a matter of taste, but for me, it has all the ingredients of a great Final Fantasy, which is why I have a special fondness for it. Moreover, the best part is that if you didn’t play it back in the day, you should remember that it’s been available on Xbox for a few years now, so we can’t think of a better excuse than its 25th anniversary to recommend it.

In this version, you’ll be able to enjoy the adventures of Yitán, Vivi, and company with characters and scenes in high definition, as well as new gameplay options, such as ultra-fast mode, no random battles, and other combat improvements.

The Tántalus theater company arrives in the kingdom of Alexandria with the intention of kidnapping Princess Garnet. However, to everyone’s surprise, it turns out that the princess had already planned her escape. This is how she meets Yitán, one of the company members, and embarks on a journey with him and Captain Steiner, her bodyguard.
