One of the biggest and most controversial projects in the industry is back within everyone’s reach. Star Citizen, the space simulator from Cloud Imperium Games, can be played for free on PC from August 26 to September 2.

During this period, any user can sign up, download the game and access its vast persistent universe without restrictions. This is an ideal opportunity to try out the game firsthand before taking the leap to owning one of its ships.

The free access includes various ships like Asgard, Prowler, Vulture, Ursa Medivac, Gladiator, Zeus MkII ES, Razor, and Polaris, as well as the ability to explore planets, stations, and complete star systems. The game combines space combat, exploration, trading, mining, and even first-person shooting, offering an immersive experience that evolves with each update.

Currently, Star Citizen is in Alpha 4.3, which adds Onyx facilities (cooperative content distributed across over 100 locations), dynamic snow, new weaponry, and improvements to persistence and balance. The changes introduced in patches 4.2 and 4.2.1 are also still in effect, with weather systems, new weapons, escort missions, and expanded economic activities.
