The highly anticipated patch that was supposed to introduce cooperative mode for two players in Elden Ring: Nightreign will not arrive today as planned. FromSoftware has announced a last-minute delay due to an emergency that directly affects the region where the studio operates.

The cause is the powerful 8.8-magnitude earthquake registered off the coast of Kamchatka, Russia, which has activated tsunami alerts in several Pacific locations, including the Japanese prefecture of Iwate. For safety reasons, the studio has suspended its technical activity until the situation stabilizes.
The patch will arrive on July 31, if there are no new setbacks
FromSoftware’s new goal is to release the update on Thursday, July 31, as long as the situation allows it. This patch will not only add the long-awaited two-player mode, but also bring back the Soberano Everdark, a key character for the game’s endgame.
Although the delay is only 24 hours, it comes at a crucial time for the game, which has experienced a notable drop in active users since its release in May. The community hopes that this cooperative mode will be the necessary boost to revitalize interest.
For now, it is unknown whether the patch’s content will be modified or if the technical maintenance will be extended. From Generación Xbox, we will continue to monitor any last-minute changes related to Nightreign and its evolution.
