Bandai Namco has officially unveiled a new action RPG set in the world of Sword Art Online. The project, titled Echoes of Aincrad, has been showcased with a debut trailer that gives a glimpse of its setting, characters, and enemies.
This is a single-player adventure set in the world of Aincrad, one of the most iconic settings in the franchise. Although the initial video doesn’t delve too deep into the mechanics, it’s clear that the game will feature third-person combat, exploration, and battles against creatures from the virtual world that define the series.
Echoes of Aincrad arrives on Xbox Series on July 10, 2026
Bandai Namco has confirmed that Echoes of Aincrad will launch on July 10, 2026 and will be available on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. For now, no release has been announced for other platforms.
The game will also feature three different editions at launch. The standard edition will include the base game along with a pre-order incentive that offers the Proto-Elucidator weapon set. The Deluxe edition will add early access to the Death Game mode, a future expansion, and a Starter Pack with various consumables to start the adventure.
The Ultimate edition will be the most comprehensive, including all previous content along with additional extras such as a special anime, a digital art book with soundtrack, and an exclusive armor pack. With this announcement, Bandai Namco expands the list of Sword Art Online-based titles and aims for a significant release for franchise fans this summer.
