Larian Studios expands the scope of one of its most recognized role-playing games. Divinity: Original Sin 2, the title that consolidated the studio before the success of Baldur’s Gate 3, is now playable on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, allowing players to enjoy the complete adventure on next-generation hardware.
Set in the world of Rivellon, the game offers a deep and completely open role-playing experience, where every decision influences the development of the story. In a world without gods and on the brink of collapse, the player embodies a wielder of forbidden magic who must navigate from the prison-colony of Fort Joy to disputing the control of divine power. All of this can be experienced solo, in local co-op, or online multiplayer.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 on Next-Gen Consoles
This version is not a remake or a remaster, but the full adaptation of the original game to current consoles, maintaining its turn-based tactical combat system and freedom of customization intact. The system is completely classless, allowing players to create unique characters by combining abilities, talents, and stats without rigid restrictions.
-
Five playable races: human, elf, dwarf, lizard, and undead, each with their own abilities
-
Local and online co-op, ideal for shared campaigns
-
Reactive narrative, with decisions that alter missions, relationships, and outcomes
-
Deep strategic combat, different from the system seen in Baldur’s Gate 3
Those who already own Divinity: Original Sin 2 on Nintendo Switch, PS4, or Xbox One can upgrade for free to the corresponding next-gen version by downloading the upgrade package from their platform’s digital store. In Japan, the upgrade has a symbolic cost.
With this release, Larian reinforces its catalog on current consoles and offers the perfect opportunity to (re)discover one of the most influential RPGs of the last decade, now ready for a new generation of players.
