Cyberpunk 2077 prepares its big update 2.3: It is confirmed that it will arrive a little later than expected

The new free patch promises similar content to that of version 2.2, although it will be delayed a bit, it was scheduled for this Thursday, June 26.

CD Projekt RED has officially confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a new numbered update, version 2.3. Although it was initially planned for June 26, the Polish studio has decided to postpone it slightly to ensure it meets the community’s expectations. The announcement was made through their official channels, where they also revealed that it will include numerous new features.

This will be the first major patch since the arrival of version 2.2 in December 2024, an update that introduced a deep improvement in character customization, vehicles, and Photo Mode options. CDPR’s idea is to continue down that same path, expanding the game’s aesthetic and functional possibilities without additional cost to players.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3: New Date and What to Expect

Although there is no concrete date, the developers explain that they have preferred to take more time to polish the details. Their message has been clear: “We want to make sure this update is really to your liking”, referring to its size and content. In fact, they have assured that it will be similar in scale to version 2.2.

On that occasion, Cyberpunk 2077 received a wide range of improvements:

• New cosmetic items for the Character Editor (over 100)

• Advanced vehicle customization, including smart paints

• Improvements to Photo Mode, with more filters and tools

• Greater facial and body customization, with new cyberware, makeup, and tattoos

It is expected that update 2.3 will follow that approach, further expanding the range of options available to customize V and their world. CDPR has not yet confirmed whether new playable features will be included, but they do insist that they will return “very soon” with all the details.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on Xbox Series, PC, and PlayStation. Update 2.3 will arrive for free and is being developed by Virtuos Studios, also responsible for supporting previous versions, as confirmed by REDStreams.
