Crimson Desert is back in the spotlight with the release of a new in-depth video that makes it clear just how far Pearl Abyss wants to take its next big project. Just over a month from its launch, the South Korean studio has wanted to show without filters the magnitude of the world that awaits us and the possibilities it will offer to players.
Far from being just a visual teaser, the video is part of a series of three installments focused on breaking down the main pillars of the game. This first installment puts the focus on exploration, map design, and the number of activities available, making it clear that we’re facing one of the most ambitious open worlds to arrive on Xbox Series this year.
The world of Crimson Desert promises limitless exploration
The continent of Pywel will be the grand stage for this adventure, a continuous territory filled with differentiated regions, living cities, settlements, fortresses, and wild areas loaded with secrets. Pearl Abyss confirms that the map size surpasses that of other genre references, with a density designed to reward both free exploration and organic discovery of missions and events.
In the video, you can see horseback riding, open-field combat, assaults on enemy strongholds, and tours of very varied environments, from mountainous areas to coastal regions or desert areas. All of this without visible interruptions, reinforcing the sense of continuity and scale that the studio wants to convey.

The journey of Kliff and the Greymanes will take place in a world marked by political and military conflicts, where each region will have its own weight within the whole. Pearl Abyss has already confirmed that Crimson Desert has reached the Gold state, and its launch is set for March 19th on Xbox Series, PC, and PlayStation 5, with the ambition of becoming one of the most notable titles of 2026.
