Good news for fans of Tales of: the producer of the saga, Yusuke Tomizawa, has confirmed in an interview with the Japanese magazine Famitsu that the next remastered title in the franchise will be announced soon. According to the creator, there are currently two remasters in the works, one in the verification phase and the other in the final stages of development.
Tomizawa also explained that over 70% of the series’ audience comes from abroad, a fact that reflects the growing international success of Tales of on modern platforms. However, the producer wanted to make it clear that this change is not due to a loss of interest in Japan, but rather to the global increase in the player base and the presence of more active hardware worldwide.
Xillia 2 Remastered is still in the works, but the new Tales of will take longer
The producer also confirmed that the remastering of Tales of Xillia 2 is still in development, and that the team hopes to share news soon. For now, the goal is to improve the overall quality of the project before showing it officially.
Regarding a new main title in the series, Tomizawa was clear: “It’s still being worked on, but it will take some time before we can announce it”. So, although Tales of Arise recently turned four years old, players will have to wait a bit longer to know the next big release with completely new characters and world.
