A direct mention on LinkedIn confirms that the project was discarded internally without an official announcement.

After the irregular release of The Callisto Protocol on consoles and PC, Striking Distance Studios seems to have faced tough decisions that had not been made public… until now. A new reference discovered in the professional profile of a former team member has revealed that Project Titan, their next game in development, was officially canceled before it was even announced.
The information appears in the history of a senior technical artist who worked at Striking Distance Studios from July 2021 to December 2022. In the description of their tasks, it is mentioned literally that they worked on “The Callisto Protocol and Project Titan (canceled)“, thus confirming that the second title was discarded during development.
The canceled project from the creators of The Callisto Protocol
- This new clue points to Project Titan being a development of some magnitude: the artist details tasks related to character and weapon rigging in Unreal Engine, creation of customization systems, and optimization for multiple platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PS4. Everything indicates that the game was intended for a full multi-platform release.
Its cancellation seems consistent with the internal cuts and restructuring that affected Striking Distance after the discreet commercial performance of The Callisto Protocol. This title, released in 2022 with great ambitions, received mixed reviews and did not meet the expected sales targets.
The cancellation of a game of this nature before its announcement demonstrates that the situation of the studio, a subsidiary of Krafton, is still delicate. In the absence of official communication from the company, this indirect leak is, for now, the only confirmation of the end of Project Titan.
Will we ever see the concepts or materials from this lost game? Does Striking Distance have something else in the works? For now, the future of the studio remains complicated.
