Grand Theft Auto Online is about to change forever. Rockstar Games has begun introducing an age verification system that will be mandatory to access the online mode of the popular title. The discovery was made after analyzing the game’s internal code, where multiple messages related to age restrictions and access denied warnings appear.

The system appears to be linked to the Social Club, and includes direct mentions of QR code scans, age checks via browser, and automatic messages that block access to minors. Although it’s not yet active for all users, the found messages make it clear that verification will be essential soon.

Visible changes in the code anticipate an imminent measure

Phrases like “Verify your age to access Grand Theft Auto Online” or “You must meet the minimum age requirement to access this online feature” have been found in the latest lines added to the system file. An alert with the NO ACCESS tag is also included if the validation process is not passed.

This would mark a significant shift in the access policy to one of Rockstar’s most popular modes, with especially sensitive implications for underage players. Although GTA has always been rated for adults, GTA Online has been accessible without real barriers for years.
