It’s not being an easy road for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Just a few weeks from launch, Activision and Treyarch still haven’t fully clarified how the controversial Carry Forward system will work, which theoretically allows content to be transferred from the previous installment. After several changes of heart in a matter of days, it’s now confirmed that some skins and rewards from Black Ops 6 will indeed be available in the new game.
Everything started with the intention of transferring weapons, operators, and complete camouflages from Black Ops 6 to Black Ops 7, but the community reacted harshly, especially due to the use of out-of-context or attention-grabbing skins, such as humanoid sharks, animated characters, or creatures with flaming bodies. Many players believe that these customizations break the ambiance of the saga.
What content can be transferred to Black Ops 7 from Black Ops 6?
After almost completely eliminating the transfer, leaving only double experience chips, Activision has changed course again:
-
Some aspects of operators from Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode can be transferred.
-
Cooperative mode camouflages will also be compatible, although only a select few.
-
The 4 reward skins from the main Zombies mission will be available from day one in Black Ops 7.
-
Additionally, players who have reached Prestige Level 1000 in Black Ops 6 will automatically receive the “New Orders” skin for Samuels.
Activision hasn’t ruled out that more “realistic” content will be enabled in the future, but for now, the focus is very limited. The situation is generating a lot of confusion, especially for those who have invested hours and money in customization within multiplayer and cooperative modes.
Heads up, Zombies players: any of the 4 Main Quest Operator Skin rewards earned in Black Ops 6 will be available in Black Ops 7 at launch!
And for the truly dedicated, the “New Orders” Prestige Level 1000 Operator Skin reward will also be available for Samuels on day one. pic.twitter.com/sJMXkR2SXX
