Bungie has surprised us before the official release of Marathon with the publication of its complete roadmap. The studio not only showed a CGI launch trailer, but also detailed the content plan for the next few months, including a surprise for the entire community.
The game will debut on March 5, 2026 along with the start of Season 1, marking the beginning of its post-launch support cycle. From the very beginning, Bungie makes it clear that the project is designed as a constantly evolving experience.
Marathon’s roadmap confirms new weapons, modes, and a community event
After launch, Season 1 will receive several updates with a new weapon, new implants, a major balance update, and the arrival of the ranked mode. The C.A.R.R.I. event will also take place, but the most exciting announcement is the reveal of a global community event.
This event will require the active participation of players to unlock the final area Cryo Archive, a new endgame zone that will not be available from day one. It will be the community, together, that will have to meet the objectives to open access.
In June, the first “wipe” will arrive, coinciding with the start of Season 2: Nightfall. This will include a new playable chassis, new weapons, additional enemies, and the The Cradle system, designed to provide greater control over character statistics. The Night Marsh map will also be incorporated, focused on nighttime scenarios. Bungie has also confirmed that Season 3 will begin in August and will run until November, consolidating the medium-term support plan.
