Borderlands 4 continues to expand its content following its successful launch. Gearbox Software has confirmed two new thematic additions that will arrive before the end of the year: a free Halloween event and the first paid DLC, set in Christmas. Both will bring new weapons, missions, and cosmetic items for Vault Hunters.
The first to arrive will be the mini-event “Horror in Kairos”, available between October 23 and November 6, 2025. During those weeks, players will be able to participate in special challenges against world bosses to earn legendary guns and grenades, as well as a pumpkin-shaped helmet and an exclusive gun skin via Shift code. The atmosphere will also change: the maps will feature a red sky and a more sinister ambiance.
First Christmas DLC for Borderlands 4
Once the Halloween event is over, the Gearbox team will launch the DLC “Reward Pack 1: How Rush Saved Mercenary Day”, which will be available starting November 20, 2025. This expansion will include new cosmetic items, legendary gear with modifiable stats, and brand-new missions centered around the charismatic Rush.
The content will be free for players who own the special editions of the game, while others will be able to purchase it as a standalone expansion. With this, Borderlands 4 solidifies its pace of periodic updates, combining free events with more elaborate expansions to keep its universe active.
