With each new Call of Duty, Activision seeks to set itself apart from the previous installment. This time, the seventh installment of the Black Ops saga has decided to break away from one of the most controversial elements of its predecessor.
The extravagant crossovers in Black Ops 6 sparked a lot of discussion, from unexpected collaborations to aspects that broke away from the usual atmosphere. But in Black Ops 7, there will be no room for those cartoonish appearances or for the classic operators that many players had unlocked.
Black Ops 7 will leave behind the crossovers and operators from the previous installment
- Activision has confirmed on its official blog that no operator, skin, or weapon from Black Ops 6 can be transferred to Black Ops 7. The company explains that its goal is to offer a more authentic and consistent experience with the tone of the saga, so they have decided not to apply the Carry Forward system to this type of content.
- However, not all progress will be lost: experience points and unused Zombie Gobblegums can be transferred to the new installment, respecting the time invested by players in the previous edition. It’s worth noting that this change does not affect Warzone, as the free battle royale will continue to allow the use of operators and aspects obtained in Black Ops 6.
The decision comes just a few weeks before the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, scheduled for November 14th on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and Game Pass. It will be at the COD Next event on September 30th that we will learn in detail about the game modes, gameplay, and Activision’s new approach to this installment.
