Game Science has confirmed a massive new update for Black Myth: Wukong, focusing on graphical improvements, performance optimization, and bug fixes. The patch will be released on October 13th at 16:00 (UTC+8) on PlayStation 5, and will be deployed on Xbox Series and PC shortly after.
The studio has detailed that this update will require additional storage space, as it includes deep engine adjustments and shader recompilation, making it one of the largest updates to date. On PC, they recommend uninstalling mods and verifying game files before updating, while on console, it may be necessary to redownload the game if the installation fails.
More stability, better lighting, and support for new technologies
The patch introduces support for AMD FSR 4 on PC, improving visual clarity and stability, as well as integrating CPU and rendering optimizations to increase FPS in demanding scenarios. On Xbox Series and PS5, the new Performance mode returns to 60 Hz, reducing latency and increasing resolution, with a secondary “Legacy” mode that preserves the original parameters.
In the visual department, global lighting has been improved even on low settings, and screen flickering and ghosting effects have been fixed on high-frequency displays. Textures, loading times, and motion blur have also been fine-tuned to achieve a cleaner and more natural image.
Among the additional adjustments, improvements to boss battles stand out, as well as a clearer interface for the traveler’s map and new localization options, with support for the Czech language and text and voice corrections in several languages.
Although the exact date for Xbox has not been confirmed, the deployment will take place within days. Black Myth: Wukong continues to receive strong technical support, reinforcing its position as one of the biggest releases in the genre.
