The story of Redfall continues to make headlines even after its near oblivion. After months of silence regarding the refund of its additional content, Bethesda has started sending refunds to those who purchased the Bite Back DLC Pack. What’s curious is the method: some users are receiving physical checks by mail, in the midst of 2025.
The case came to light thanks to a Reddit user, who shared an image of their refund titled “Redfall: Bite Back DLC refund”. The amount is $30, the price of the pack at the time, and everything suggests that it corresponds to buyers who acquired the physical edition of the game.
Bethesda opts for paper refunds for Redfall
Although it’s common today to receive digital refunds, Bethesda has surprised with this more traditional method. The company hasn’t detailed whether all affected users will receive the refund in this way, but similar testimonials are starting to appear on forums and social media.
The case is another chapter in the complicated trajectory of Redfall, a project that never took off and ended with the closure of its studio, Arkane Austin. Even the founder of Arkane called the decision “stupid” and “a mistake”.
