Battlefield Next leaks the return of one of its best multiplayer modes

A new leaked video from the testing servers of Battlefield Next has reignited excitement surrounding the upcoming installment of EA DICE’s shooter. Following the first glimpses of its single-player campaign, the focus is now on multiplayer, specifically the return of one of the most beloved modes among series veterans.

The clip, shared by a user on YouTube, allegedly corresponds to a recent test session organized by EA DICE and Ripple Effect as part of the internal Battlefield Labs program. Although the video quality is not final, it clearly identifies the maps, gameplay mechanics, and match structure that many will recognize immediately.

The classic Rush mode could return in Battlefield Next

The leaked sequence reveals the return of Rush, the popular objective-based mode that pits two teams against each other in alternating attack and defense roles. The objective: to plant or defuse explosive charges to capture sections of the map, advance positions, and maintain pressure in strategic areas. All of this with a dynamic heavily marked by cooperation and tactical use of the environment.

In addition to the return of this mode, the alpha version code also hints at a possible Battle Royale, still in the internal testing phase. According to the available data, this mode is being tested by small groups within the closed multiplayer sessions of Battlefield Labs, suggesting that it could be announced later.

For now, EA has not made any official statements, but with Gamescom and other upcoming events, it’s likely that we’ll have news soon. What’s clear is that Battlefield Next aims to reclaim the series’ identity with classic modes and new formulas for massive combat.
