Battlefield Hardline is gearing up to bid farewell to consoles. Electronic Arts has confirmed that the game will be removed from digital stores on Xbox, marking the beginning of its gradual shutdown after several years of availability.

The decision directly affects those who don’t already have the game in their library, as it will soon no longer be available for purchase along with all its additional content, including expansions and DLC. A move that’s part of the standard process of retiring titles over time.

According to EA, Battlefield Hardline will be removed from the Xbox Store on May 22, at which point it will no longer be available for digital purchase or to buy additional content. A month later, on June 22, the online servers will be shut down on consoles, meaning the game will lose all its multiplayer features on Xbox, leaving only its single-player campaign for those who already own it.

It’s worth noting that this measure does not affect the PC version, which will remain available for purchase and with all its online services active. If you have the game in your library, you’ll still be able to play it without issue in single-player mode, but the online component will disappear completely in just a few weeks. Another farewell in the industry, where it’s becoming increasingly common to see titles from previous generations shutting down their servers.
