Little by little, we’re learning more about Battlefield 6, and although the focus is on its large multiplayer battles, there’s also room to talk about performance. This week, DICE confirmed something that many Xbox Series S users were waiting for: the performance mode will run at 60 FPS stable on the most affordable console of the new generation.

This is no small detail, especially considering the history of some recent titles where Series S has fallen behind in certain technical aspects. Although in this case, optimization has been an absolute priority for the studio.
Battlefield 6 will strike a balance between graphics and performance
In an interview with Tech & Co, Florian Le Bihan, lead designer at DICE, explained that Battlefield 6 has been designed from the start to offer a smooth experience on all configurations, from Xbox Series to PS5 and PC. According to his words, the goal was clear: to make the game “visually spectacular, but also run well on all systems”.
In particular, Le Bihan assures that Battlefield 6 will run at 60 FPS guaranteed on all consoles, with no exceptions. In the case of PC or more powerful consoles like PS5 Pro, it will be possible to go even further thanks to the advanced performance mode.
- Additionally, other interesting details about the game have been revealed: the presence of skill-based matchmaking has been confirmed, although it will vary depending on the game mode, and some of the maps, weapons, and modes that will be available in the beta have also been detailed.
Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10, 2025 on Xbox Series, PC, and PS5, and everything points to it being one of the most technically polished shooters of the year. And the best part: Series S won’t be left behind. If you’re a fan of the saga, mark your calendar for this month’s beta, as it promises to be a major talking point. Barring any last-minute changes, this should be great news for all those still getting the most out of their console.
