The open beta of Battlefield 6 has been one of the most talked-about moments of the past week, with millions of players getting a firsthand look at what the highly anticipated title from Electronic Arts has to offer. Although initial estimates suggested around 5 million participants, a new analysis significantly raises that figure.

According to a report by research firm Oppenheimer, the total number of players in the beta reached approximately 20 million users worldwide. To calculate this, they based their findings on comparative data from similar titles, as well as concurrent user metrics on Steam, applying an estimated split of 70% on PC and 30% on consoles.

A Strong Start for Battlefield 6

According to the report, the first week of testing marked a very solid level of participation, which served as a reference for projections. The second week did not surpass that initial peak, although it maintained a stable base of interested players.

In terms of reception, the analysis highlights that the most notable criticisms focused on a single game mode, Rush, which did not convince everyone due to its approach. However, Oppenheimer assures that this negative feedback is not significant enough to tarnish the overall positive response to the new Battlefield.

On Track for a Successful October Launch

With these numbers on the table, the beta solidifies as a clear indicator of the massive interest in the saga’s return. Now, all that remains to be seen is whether Electronic Arts and DICE can translate that enthusiasm into the final version when it hits the market on October 10th.
