Battlefield 6 has just received its first update after its official launch, a minor revision that doesn’t require an additional download and aims to fine-tune the game’s overall balance. Although it doesn’t introduce new content, it adjusts some key aspects of multiplayer that were already generating debate in the community.

The update is applied automatically when you log in with an online connection and fixes small details in Assault mode, as well as tweaking the damage and effectiveness of several weapons. This is a precursor to a major patch that, according to the developers, will arrive in the coming weeks.
First balance adjustments in Battlefield 6
In Assault mode, DICE has increased the number of available tickets for certain maps. Now, teams will have 100 respawn tickets, up from the previous 75, allowing for slightly longer and more balanced matches.
The biggest change, however, comes to the arsenal of weapons. Shotguns have been the most affected: their effective range has been reduced, making them only truly lethal at close and medium distances. Additionally, two sniper rifles have had their projectile speed modified:
-
M2010 ESR: from 900 m/s to 800 m/s.
-
PSR: from 750 m/s to 720 m/s.
Although the adjustment is minor, it will be noticeable, especially in long-range engagements. In the case of the PSR, the change will be less noticeable, as it remains the most powerful rifle in the game, and its acquisition is still tied to one of the most challenging multiplayer challenges.
For now, the nerf to the medic class that we mentioned has not been implemented, one of the most anticipated changes by players due to the speed of their defibrillator. Everything suggests that this modification will arrive with the first major official patch, which is already in preparation.
