The days of massive farming in Battlefield 6 are over. Electronic Arts and DICE have announced a complete overhaul of the progression system, after detecting that many players were using the Portal mode to accumulate experience quickly and unbalanced.
The team has clarified that they will not eliminate the possibility of progressing in custom modes, but they have blocked the creation of servers designed exclusively for earning XP without effort. This means that players will no longer be able to abuse the system to unlock weapons or levels faster than intended.
Battlefield 6 improves overall progression and adjusts challenges
In addition to stopping farming, EA has applied a 10% increase in base experience gained in normal matches and a 40% higher daily bonus, making legitimate progress more satisfying. They have also accelerated weapon mastery, so that reaching level 20 will require less time.
The important thing
- The weapon and class challenges have also been simplified: the unlock levels have changed from 20, 23, and 26 to 10, 15, and 20, making it easier to access additional content.
For now, the studio has not confirmed whether players who have already completed the previous challenges will receive additional rewards, although there is speculation about the possibility of XP Tokens to compensate for the effort.
With these adjustments, Battlefield 6 seeks to balance progression and return to the battlefield a more just and competitive pace of advancement, leaving behind the days of the “sauce train” that had generated so many abuses.
