Following a historic launch that has broken records on Steam and consoles, Battlefield 6 is heading towards its first major update. The DICE team is already gathering feedback from the community, and according to producer David Sirland, the first significant change will affect the medic class.
Over the past few days, the producer has asked on social media what adjustments players would make to the multiplayer, and one response has been repeated frequently: the medic’s defibrillator is too fast and has no limitations. In this installment, the gadget allows players to revive multiple teammates almost instantly, creating unbalanced situations in intense combat.
A brief cooldown and more adjustments on the way
The developers have confirmed that the upcoming update will include a brief cooldown period between revivals, to prevent players from raising entire squads in a matter of seconds. Although it will be a minor change, the goal is to balance the pace of matches without penalizing players who use the support class correctly.
This adjustment will be just the first of many, as DICE plans to continue modifying weapons, gadgets, and vehicles based on feedback received since launch. No exact date has been confirmed, but everything points to the patch arriving this week, along with a detailed list of technical improvements and general fixes.
