Battlefield 6 loses nearly 80% of its players two months after its release

The EA shooter goes from record figures to a much more contained daily base on PC.

The release was powerful, with figures that placed the new Battlefield among the strongest releases of the year on Steam. However, as the weeks have passed, the landscape has changed in a clear way for Battlefield 6, which now faces a significant drop in active players on the Valve platform.

Two months after the release of Battlefield REDSEC, the user base on PC has decreased dramatically. Current data points to a loss of around 80% of players compared to its initial peak, a decline that once again puts the focus on the difficulty of maintaining interest in the long term in high-budget multiplayer shooters.

Battlefield 6 goes from 550,000 players to just over 100,000 daily

During the launch of Season 1, Battlefield 6 reached around 550,000 daily players on Steam, a figure that reflected the huge initial interest in the new installment and its REDSEC proposal. It was one of the most played titles at the time on PC, with full queues and constant activity.

The current situation is very different. At the moment, the game moves between 100,000 and 120,000 daily players, a still relevant base, but far from the initial impact. The decline has occurred in a relatively short period, which has generated debate in the community about the pace of content, the balance of matches and the game’s ability to retain users.

This type of decline is not unusual in large-scale releases, especially in titles focused on seasons. Even so, the contrast between the release and the current figures is striking. The future of Battlefield 6 will depend to a large extent on upcoming updates, events, and adjustments, which will be decisive in stabilizing the community and preventing the active base from continuing to decline over the months.
