Although Battlefield 6 is already available on Xbox Series and PC with a brutal multiplayer mode, as we told you yesterday in our analysis, there is still a big question mark: its Battle Royale mode. Electronic Arts has not confirmed the release date or model, but a hint within the game itself may have solved part of the mystery.
Several players have detected a message on the screen of the “Double Experience Tokens”, which mentions that “Battlefield 6 owners get an additional 5% experience”. A seemingly minor detail, but it doesn’t make sense if the player already owns the main title. This has led to speculation that the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale will be free, and that owners of the base game will receive exclusive bonuses within it.
A possible free launch with advantages for base game players
If confirmed, Battlefield 6 would follow the strategy of other major Electronic Arts shooters, such as Apex Legends, betting on a free-to-play model with advantages and additional cosmetic content for those who already have the full version of the title.
The theory fits with rumors pointing to a launch of the Battle Royale mode alongside Season 1, scheduled for October 28th, and there is even talk of a possible surprise launch without prior notice (“shadow drop”) before that date.
For now, EA has not made any official announcement, but all signs point to the new mode becoming one of the biggest moves in the saga this generation.
