A new debate has erupted in the Battlefield community following the appearance of emblems for Battlefield 6 that, according to players, seem to have been generated using artificial intelligence. The issue has gained traction on Reddit, where several users have shared screenshots and comparisons, pointing out visual errors that are difficult to justify in traditionally created art.
The discussion, which originated on Reddit, focuses on very specific details: mispositioned fingers, impossible proportions, deformed guns, and elements that don’t fit anatomically or mechanically, flaws commonly associated with AI-generated images. These emblems are reportedly available as part of customizable content within the game, with some linked to purchases.
The community detects clear patterns of AI generation
Several users highlight that this is not an isolated case, but rather multiple emblems with similar inconsistencies. Comments like “five thumbs on one hand” or “fingers going through the magazine” are repeated in the thread, fueling the notion that EA may have opted to generate some visual content automatically to reduce time and costs.
Other players recall that Call of Duty was also recently criticized for using AI-generated art in player cards, which reinforces the perception that this practice is starting to become normalized in major productions. Nevertheless, the discontent is evident: many consider it problematic to charge for content that doesn’t meet basic quality standards.
The image in question
Battlefield 6 is currently selling AI-generated emblems, as discussed on this Reddit thread by u/zrkillerbush in the xbox community.
So far, EA has not made any official comment on the matter. It has also not been confirmed whether these emblems were created entirely by AI, retouched by artists afterwards, or if they are simply design errors. Until there is clarification, the controversy continues to grow and puts back on the table the debate about the use of artificial intelligence in AAA games, especially when money is involved.
