Obsidian has released the 1.5 update for Avowed, which marks the largest patch since the game’s launch in February. This version incorporates new abilities for the Fighter and Explorer classes, balance adjustments, visual improvements, solutions to community-reported issues, and many other novelties that expand and refine the experience.
In addition, the game has been officially verified for Steam Deck, a piece of news celebrated by those who want to take the adventure anywhere. As of today, this version is available to all players on Xbox Series, PC, and Steam, with automatic download if you have the game installed.
What’s new in Avowed’s 1.5 patch
New abilities for Fighter and Explorer
The melee and ranged classes receive new active and passive abilities to balance their potential against the Mage. These include Shadow Step, Fan of Daggers, and Barbaric Smash. All previous character abilities have been reintegrated at no cost, allowing you to reconfigure your combat style from scratch.
Avowed is now compatible with Steam Deck
Official verification ensures that the game runs smoothly on Valve’s portable console. Performance improvements and compatibility fixes have also been implemented, both graphically and in terms of interface.
New unique items in all regions
Exclusive weapons and equipment have been added to regions like Dawnshore, Emerald Stair, Shatterscarp, and Galawain’s Tusks. This will allow for more personalized playstyles from the start.
Enemies with player abilities and new barriers
Several enemies can now use abilities like Blizzard, Ring of Tire, or Tanglefoot, and physical or magical barriers have been introduced that block specific types of attacks, adding a tactical layer to combat.
Visual, performance, and graphics options improvements
TAA scaling has been corrected, an option to limit the frame rate to 40 FPS has been added, and multiple clipping, texture, and first-person behavior errors have been resolved. Additionally, the interface now allows for custom markers on the map and saves menu configurations.
Localization, accessibility, and balance adjustments
Languages like Japanese and Korean have been added, and enemy damage, effects like Bleed or Poison, and multiple enchantments have been adjusted. Over 50 errors related to animations, physics, missions, combat systems, and overall performance have also been fixed.
This patch addresses many of the community’s most voted requests, and Obsidian has thanked players for their support and feedback since the game’s launch. You can check the full list of changes on the studio’s official website or from the game’s menu.
