The roadmap for one of the year’s most notable Xbox releases will undergo a slight adjustment. Obsidian has decided to move the update previously planned for this fall, which many players were eagerly anticipating due to the improvements it was set to introduce. Although the change disrupts initial plans, it also opens the door to a more complete and refined version than initially anticipated.

The team has confirmed that they will need more time to polish all the content that was planned. The intention is not only to fulfill what was promised but to prepare a much larger package coinciding with the game’s first anniversary, taking the opportunity to strengthen its lifespan heading into 2026.
Avowed: The Update is Pushed to February
The update will include everything assigned to the fall patch: New Game Plus, Photo Mode, new weapon type, and a set of additional improvements that have not been detailed yet. Furthermore, the studio has announced that the patch will arrive with more novelties to make it the largest post-launch content for the game since its release.
Obsidian’s goal is for the patch to arrive in February, coinciding directly with the release anniversary. That’s when Xbox Series and PC players will be able to return to the adventure with a more complete version and options that expand replayability. A move that, although it delays expectations by a few months, also points to a substantial improvement of the game for those who have it pending.
