Following a massive launch of Battlefield 6 and the premiere of its first season, Activision has decided to make a move to regain the spotlight. The company has announced a free week of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which will include its complete multiplayer and Zombies modes, available from today October 28th to November 3rd.
The goal is clear: to win back the community just as EA DICE’s direct competitor is experiencing its best moment in years. During the trial, players will have access to all the game’s maps, including the latest ones, Gravity and Mothball, as well as the special Halloween event The Haunting, featuring star appearances by characters like Jason Voorhees and Predator.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 free for a limited time
- The promotion will be available on Xbox Series, Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation, and will not require a Game Pass subscription to access multiplayer or Zombies. However, those subscribed to the Xbox service will be able to download the full version of the game, including the campaign, as part of their catalog.
Meanwhile, Battlefield 6 is celebrating the launch of its Season 1 today, which arrives loaded with new content, maps, and weapons, as well as a major addition: REDSEC, its new free Battle Royale mode. The timing of Activision’s announcement doesn’t seem like a coincidence, as both titles are vying for the public’s attention in the same week.
With these moves, the war between Call of Duty and Battlefield is back to its most intense point in years. Two giants of the modern shooter are facing off again, and this time, the players are the ones who come out on top.
